Food | Vonshef Waffle Maker

I do love a good kitchen gadget. I’m a foodie through and through and any excuse to try something a bit different or create something I wouldn’t normally is an absolute thrill. So you can imagine how excited I was to get my hands on a VonShef Waffle Maker. I don’t know about you, but growing up in a quiet northern town meant that anything more than fish and chips and a Sunday dinner was a bit exotic!
Yes. Even waffles were a huge treat.

The machine itself is relatively compact, I’ve managed to squirrel it away on a shelf next to my grill machine. If you have a bigger kitchen though it’s definitely handsome enough to keep out. I have a teeny kitchen though so in the cupboard it goes!
The griddles are large and most importantly, non-stick. The instructions recommend a spray oil, but I didn’t have any, so I used normal oil and a pastry brush. I am glad to say, it worked perfectly, no sticky waffles here!
We just googled a recipe for the batter but we have used the ready mixed packet jobs too. I did enjoy the homemade batter far more though. So much fresher and lighter.
Once we’d mixed the batter and left it to rest, it really was as simple as pouring the batter in the waffle maker and closing the lid and Voila! Perfect waffles every time, we’ve not had a disaster yet!
Gorgeous right?!! They look so profesh if I do say so myself!! I was honestly, proper proud. If you want to impress your mates or the kids I can honestly say this waffle maker is the nuts!!
