Entrepreneurial Spirit…

I’ve always had a bit of an entrepreneurial streak, as a child I sold copies of my music collection to my friends. I would distribute a list of all the albums I owned, my friends would place orders and I would copy them onto tape. Okay, so it was slightly illegal, but quite enterprising for a 8 year old really?
Since having Poppy I seem to have reignited my spirit for self employment, the latest venture some of you will know has been our shop Made By. So when Joes Bloggers invited me to an Entrepreneurship Workshop hosted by Hiscox, I was really excited to go along and pick up some tips.

I’d like to work here please?
The workshop was held at Joes Bloggers HQ just across the road from Kings Cross. The offices are such an awesome space, fresh and modern. We were welcomed by Gemma and introduced to Gary from Hiscox and Anick from The Start-Up Academy who delivered the presentation.

Anick doing his thing!

The presentation was really engaging and so helpful, Gary from Hiscox has put together an overview here if you’re interested. You can also check out The Start-Up Academy‘s website here

If you are in the process of setting up a business I can highly recommend visiting both the websites mentioned above, there is some great information on both about what to look out for, how to get started and how to grow your business.
Ahuge thanks again to Joes Bloggers, Hiscox and The Start-up Academy for inviting me along, I had a fantastic day and learnt heaps that will be so helpful as we move forward with the business!
