I heart 2014

Ok, so we’re only a day in, but 2014 looks good yeh? It’s got to be right? We create our own destiny and to be honest I’m not willing to settle for second best. I’m going to make the most of every bloody second. And that, my friends, is about as close as I get to a resolution.
Today I got a much needed lie-in then headed to my folks for lunch, I’m determined to spend more time with friends and family.
So anyway, what did I wear ‘cos, you know thats what we do here!

Sorry I look miserable!!

I wore: Shirt – Marks and Spencer// Jeans – JUNAROSE//Shoes – Accessorize

Just a simple, relaxed outfit. Nothing special, but I wanted to share the cute blouse. I’ve gotten a couple of bits from Marks and Spencer lately and I’ve been really impressed. The majority of their main range goes up to a 24 (UK) and the plus range seems to be improving, one to keep an eye on I think.
I seem to have lost the ability smile and instead pull funny faces all day!

A footnote. I wanted to do a sitting down shot. Just because I could, because it’s not something you see very often on a blog. Because I thought it was important for you to see. I don’t know why, just did. I guess I just want to push some stuff this year.
And speaking of this year. I don’t know about you but I find January difficult. As a former diet-a-holic, eating disordered mess. The onslaught of images, tv ads and social media slurry of diet nonsense is pretty tough to take. You spend all year taking steps to build your confidence up, be body confident and stick two fingers up at those who place mass amounts of body shame at your door only to be knocked back down again. And even I, someone who posed in her pants in a national magazine and gobs off all the time about being body confident can feel that pressure. So breathe with me and say NO to diets, NO to fads. Enjoy your life, make changes where necessary but be kind to yourself, love yourself and remember you’re amazing.

Could not agree more about January being tough. We're only one day in and I am already so sick of seeing adverts guilt tripping me into needing to better myself by losing weight. I also follow someone on all social media who is lovely but lost some weight last year and has posted comparison photos at least 4 times this week and it's making me want to stab myself in the face. /rant.
You will have a wonderful year because you are a wonderful person who deserves wonderful things and I love you xxxx
