Cleaning And Organising Essentials For Winter

Now that a new year has begun and Christmas is long gone for another year it is time for us all to start getting back into a routine and improve our habits.

One of the ways we can make a positive change to the home in winter is to clean and organise it to make sure it is ready for the new season in spring. There are lots of important jobs for you to try during January to make the house more clean and organised and today we want to go through just a few of them.

Here are some of the cleaning and organising jobs you should do in January to keep the home safe and clean.

Invest in vacuum bags

Now is the ideal time to order some vacuum bags online and get ready to pack away your big winter coats once the weather starts to warm up in spring. It is a brilliant idea for you to pack away your chunky clothes in a vacuum bag after winter to allow them to be stored in a compact place and maintain their freshness through the year until you are next ready to wear them.

Defrost the freezer

Now is the time where you should carry out some of the bigger jobs in the kitchen and one of those is defrosting the freezer. Now that Christmas is out of the way you can carry out this job without the worry of wrecking a ton of food. It is a job that will take around an hour and it will ensure that your freezer is able to run properly and that your food remains fresh all the time.

Get rid of old clothes

It is a great time after Christmas to get rid of some of your old clothes and replace them with either new clothes you have bought for Christmas or leave some space for when you might want to buy things later in the year. Making space in your wardrobe is an important thing to do if you want to keep your things fresh and aerated – and it will also ensure that you don’t end up wasting money on more clothes when you can’t find items you already own.

Disinfect those tough spots

One of the josh you can do as a deep clean in your home this winter is to grab the Dettol and disinfect all of those small tough spots around the house. It is a good idea for you to spray and leave it to soak in for a minute or two before wiping or scrubbing away. Clean your surfaces, windowsills, grout, and more around the house to make it look fresh and new.

Clean inside the oven

Cleaning the oven is something you need to do after Christmas and all of the grease that will have invaded it. To clean your oven without harsh chemicals you can pour some baking powder inside, drizzle vinegar on top and leave to sit for an hour or overnight. Wipe away and rinse.
