Health: Cook Your Way to a Healthy Smile.

I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with my teeth, they are super crooked and I tend to smile with my mouth closed, but they are really strong and healthy and I’ve only had one filling in my (nearly) 36 years, I’ve never had to have any kind of work done to them and my dentist always comments on how great they are, so I can’t complain really.
When I was asked to take part in this cooking challenge in association with Simply Health, I was so excited because I love coming up with recipes and being sent a box of organic food to have a play with was like creating my own version of Ready, Steady, Cook!

Within my Abel & Cole organic food box (how cute is the packaging?!) I received five of the 6 foods that Simply Health say can help you Cook Your Way to a Healthy Smile – Cheese, Celery, Apples, Spinach and Nuts along with Milk, brown crab and potatoes. So Michael and I set about creating a three course meal using the ingredients. For the starter we just made a simple crudité of celery and brown crab which was delicious. For the main course we made a potato and spinach gratin by layering up the milk, cheese, spinach and potatoes.

And then for dessert we made an apple crumble incorporating the nuts into the crumble mixture.

I’m not sure how healthy our crumble was but it was delicious, so who cares? Haha! I do know that I  had so much fun cooking up a storm on this challenge though!
