Style: Spring Awakenings…

This afternoon Poppy and I headed next door but one (I known it was such a trek) to our local vintage tea room, Jennies. The occasion was my lovely friend Lynsey’s baby shower. The sun was shining and it truly felt like a spring day, so it gave me to perfect opportunity to get my swedish clog sandals out that I’ve been dying to roll out since I got them.

I’ve just realised how massive my forehead looks with my hair pinned back… oops! Haha, oh well, it served a purpose, just didn’t fancy having my hair in my face today, I’m a bit poorly so needed fuss free hair and clothes!

Apart from the shoes, there’s nothing you haven’t seen here before I don’t think. The jeans are my trusty JUNAROSE bird jeans, the grey marl top is from H&M. I know I always go on about their basics but they are so great, the straight size range goes up to a 22/24 and it’s much better size and style wise than their plus size range. The kimono is an old ASOS curve one and the handbag is vintage.

I don’t know if this spring-like weather is here to stay but I hope it is. Despite my fuzzy head from this weird cold/cough thing I have, I felt so great today, the weather seriously affects my mood, so I’m hoping the sunshine is here to stay!

So on to these shoes. I must admit when the clog trend came back around a couple of years ago, I wasn’t massively on board, they just seemed a bit nunty to me, but I’ve really grown to love a bit of granny chic, and I can’t wait to team them with vintage dresses and my denim jacket for the summer, I’ve even started a Pinterest board dedicated to styling them, there’s loads of inspiration on there.
I would have loved to have splurged on a pair of Swedish Hasbeens, but sadly my budget won’t stretch to that so I picked these up on eBay, they’re still genuine swedish clog sandals, just without the brand name. I got these for £20, and if you search swedish clogs/clogs/hasbeens you can find loads of bargains, even brand name ones pop up in the sale sometimes too.

The baby shower, by the way, was lovely. My friend was overwhelmed by all her gifts and the cupcakes were bloomin’ gorgeous! A lovely afternoon was had by all!
