Well… There you have it, it was gone in a flash. Plus North after a year of planning happened this weekend gone. I thought I’d write a bit about the weekend, for my own reference and so you guys could get in insight to the day. I hope it’s not too dry…!
We arrived on the Friday, myself, Michael, Toni, Elena and Kathryn headed to the venue and spent a couple of hours setting up before we headed out for a late dinner with around 30 other gorgeous fat babes. Seated next to uber babe Danie V, we ate, we laughed, we got many a dirty look from folk who couldn’t handle the fact there were 30 plus fat women dressed beautifully having the time of their lives!
|Sociable bunch aren’t we on our phones?!!|
The next day, bright and early we headed down to the venue again and carried on with the preparations. I think whats most important to remember is that Toni and I are not events managers, we don’t have any prior experience and what we do is to the best of our ability. Every year we learn more and we take on board everyones feedback and try to host the best event we can. I think what was apparent to me this year, is that we can’t do every thing on our own and that we have to relinquish some of the power otherwise the event will suffer.

We had a few technical hitches in the morning but apart from that I’d like to think we did ok, like I said it wasn’t perfect and there is definitely room for improvement, but I can honestly say, hand on heart I’m very proud of what we achieved and how the day went.
My highlights were the catwalks, the girls did an amazing job, especially those who had more than one catwalk and lots of changes!!
I especially enjoyed walking for the newly launched SLiNK Boutique, although next to Olivia, Nina and Mary I was a teeny tiny short arse!
As always the Mighty Boof! was immense, gotta love a good Photo Booth!

I was going to write heaps more but by the time I got round to writing this loads of people had written much better more in depth blogs than I could ever write, because for me it was just like my wedding day, it took a long time to plan and then went by in a flash!!
My outfit was courtesy of the lovely folk at Simply Be who are always my saviour when it comes to finding the perfect threads. I went for the this gorgeous cool monochrome tunic, one note though I did have to size up to a 26, so just something to be aware of!
|This was taken at the end of the day… I’m surprised how presentable we looked!!|
At some point, I will get round to writing the evening up too, but for now, there you go… That was Plus North 2013.
I never really got to do any thank you’s on the day itself, but thank you to the brands, all our fab volunteers, models and everyone who helped make it very special day, and most importantly those who bought tickets and attended, you made the day.
