Common Health Conditions that can be Managed with Regular Exercise

Regular exercises that help us to stay fit have very significant benefits to our bodies. Exercising regularly helps us to lose weight, strengthen our heart muscles, and increase our life expectancy. Exercise also helps us cope with stress as well as fighting depression and boosting our self-esteem. Many of us have some health conditions that can easily be prevented by a few minutes of exercise done daily or even a few days a week, be it neck and back pain or other kinds of aches and strains, or anything else.  People with chronic illnesses should consider starting some exercise routine, and they will see results in a while. I have compiled a list of health conditions that can be kept under control with simple regular exercises.

Back Pains

For this, I recommend regular low impact aerobics training. This will increase strength and endurance on the back and the muscle functions.  I lie on my back with my knees bent and the feet flat on the ground for my back pain. I then bring one knee to my chest while the other leg is still flat on the floor. I hold this position for at least 30 seconds before switching to the other leg. This exercise is excellent to strengthen the core and the muscles around the spine. Heart Disease

Regular exercise is vital to heart health. I don’t have heart disease, but I try to do at least 30 minutes of aerobics five days a week. I have learned that it’s great for my heart. Exercises like fast walking, swimming, running, cycling, and jumping rope are some of the activities that will keep the heart pumping, which is very healthy for our hearts. Doctors recommend at least two hours of moderate exercise to improve the heart’s condition. Individuals suffering from high blood pressure can lower disease progression and lower the risk of death from heart diseases.

Dementia

Exercise can significantly improve cognition in individuals who suffer from memory loss. Regular physical activities can also lower the risk of getting affected by dementia and cognitive impairment. Mostly, these conditions affect the elderly. I, therefore, would advise everyone to take light exercise. Gardening, swimming, walking, dancing, and sitting exercises like leg bending, bicycling legs, making arm circles, and clapping under the legs are a few activities that I would advise anyone with dementia to do.

Arthritis

I would advise people with arthritis to concentrate on low impact activities that will be easy on the joints. Such exercises will help reduce pain and maintain muscle strength in the affected areas and joints, therefore reducing stiffness. Such training includes walking, swimming, bicycling, and even spending a little time in the elliptical machine. It’s essential to take it slow; for example, one can split the exercise into 10-minute sessions to take it easy on the joints. This exercise will also improve overall health and physical fitness and even improve quality of life.

Diabetes

Regular exercise helps to lower blood sugar in the body. Staying active by exercising daily enables people with diabetes to control their weight and even boosts their energy. People with type two diabetes should consider cycling, swimming, brisk walking, team sports, aerobic dances, lifting weights, and resistance band exercises. This will significantly improve the overall health and even lower the risks of dying of heart-related diseases.

Asthma

This is a condition that affects the airways of the lungs. I would advise anyone with asthma to be very cautious when exercising because it can be a significant trigger that can worsen the symptoms. However, a regular workout that is not very strenuous can help people with asthma. Exercises such as swimming, walking, and recreational biking are great exercises for asthmatic people. They help to reduce inflammation, improve lung capacity, strengthen the muscles, and even improve cardiovascular fitness
