How to work with Lifestyle Bloggers – A quick guide.

**This is a paid post in association with Get Blogged**

Working with lifestyle bloggers is a great way to expose your brand, cause or product. With a wide breadth of subject matters covered, the lifestyle blogger appeals to a vast demographic and audience. Approaching bloggers can feel like a minefield, but hopefully I can give you some ideas and pointers on how to maximise your collaborations with this valuable resource.

Ways to work with Lifestyle Bloggers

There are a great many ways you can utilise lifestyle bloggers from improving your site’s SEO through their site, reaching new audiences vis their social media to getting feedback about your product or brand.

Blog Posts

Commissioning a blog post with UK lifestyle bloggers is not only great for exposure, but it’s also a fantastic way to improve your site’s SEO (search engine optimisation). What this means is the more links you get back to your site, the more likely you are to climb the rankings in search engines such as google.

One such way to make this happen is by working with a blogger directory like Get Blogged and utilising their Get Blogged Market Place function. Get Blogged have worked tirelessly over the years to create relationships with bloggers throughout the UK and as such have a huge database of bloggers from countless niches.

The marketplace is an easy to use function whereby you list a brief detailing exactly what you’re looking for. It could be a link insertion, a content placement; maybe a brand ambassador, a social media mention, or a review of your product or service.

Get Blogged will hook you up with suitable candidates taking the hard work out of building blogger relations.

Social Media Posts

There’s no denying, social media has become the go-to medium for promotion, and bloggers are another arm of that. By accessing their following and talent, you can use bloggers to promote campaigns, create new content and reach a whole new market.

This is an area of advertising you can really have fun with, what with reels and tiktok, IGTV and regular feed posts you can work with your blogger to create real eye-catching content!

Long Term Relationships

Building a long-term relationship with a blog either as brand ambassador or representative can pay dividends. But placing your trust in an influencer, they in-turn build trust with your audience, strengthening it and helping it to grow.

Budgeting…

For some this is still a bit of a taboo subject but I cannot stipulate this enough, if you have a marketing budget for advertising, then you have a budget for bloggers. It’s really as simple as that. All too often bloggers can be seen as ‘free advertising’ but it’s so important you place value in the work that bloggers do. We have spent endless time, money and resources on building up our following and readership. Placing an ad with a blogger, whatever the form, be it a blog post, social media coverage or product placement hold the same, if not more value than placing an ad in a magazine or newspaper.

Why? You may ask; the answer is in targeted exposure. If you create a relationship with the right blogger, chances are they have a dedicated, loyal following of exactly the right people you and your brand need to reach and that is… almost… priceless!

Try and be open with the bloggers you approach. If you are a new start up and absolutely have no budget, be honest. The blogger may work on a gifted basis on the proviso you will work towards a paid gig at some point.

If you do have a budget, ask for the bloggers rate card and media pack. If their prices are out of your current budget, maybe try and negotiate, come to a mutually beneficial deal.
