I’ve wanted to create my own plus size fashion shoot for an age, but I knew I wanted to do it right.
I found out about the incredibly talented Alex, boss of State and Love and Trust probably over a year ago, if not more. Her work is truly incredible, as is her brand ethos and pretty much everything she does. Considering we live literally minutes from each other, it’s taken us a good while to get our timing right. But, boy, am I glad we finally did.

I’ve done a tonne of plus size fashion shoots before but I’ve never really had full creative control over a shoot. What I loved about this shoot was that I didn’t have an agenda, Alex didn’t either. We were shooting for the love of what we do. Pure creative reasons.

I honestly feel like the stars were aligned for this shoot. We had the most beautiful night, the perfect energy, Alex played Lizzo while I gradually peeled off the layers of clothing. We just made something I’m really proud of.

Getting your kit off on Cleethorpes beach isn’t the easiest thing to do. But Alex has such a wonderful air about her, you can’t help but feel confident. I feel like she captured something true.

Now you know I’ve never been one for big editorials. I simply don’t have the money to pay for a photographer, I don’t get paid content very often and for me the purpose of the blog has always been to give a truthful and honest review of clothing, talk about issues that affect me and my readers, and generally, just have a good chinwag with you lot really. So fear not, you won’t be bombarded with perfect images or vogue-esque editorials, but as I keep moving forward, I want to have fun, and really capture this glorious fat woman in her prime. I hope you don’t mind <3
