Poor unfortunate souls…..

On Saturday I headed down to London to attend the first British Plus Size Awards, held at the prestigious Grand Connaught Rooms in Covent Garden. I’ll probably write a little bit more about the evening at some point. Total plusses of the evening include spending time in the company of some of the coolest women I know and drinking copious amounts of wine so it can’t be all bad huh?
What I wanted to focus on in this post is my outfit for the evening! I had a bit of mare (as my darling Betty Pamper might say) I had originally planned on wearing a floor length teal number, I thought the green would look great against my blonde hair. There was just one problem, it wasn’t floor length, it wasn’t even a maxi. It was a funny, just above the ankle, length that looked terrible! So with less than two weeks to go I flew into panic mode. I remembered the gorgeous Charlotte from Simply Be had said, should I need their assistance I could contact her. So that’s what I did.
I knew instantly which dress I would like to wear, the Project D Olympia Maxi. I’d fallen in love with this dress at the preview event I attended over the summer but Toni had her heart set on it for the awards and quite rightly too. It’s gorgeous, but sadly Toni wasn’t able to make the event so I decided to go for it.

I was also very kindly sent some shoes for the occasion from the lovely folk at JustFab, you might have seen me enthuse about their range on the blog before. I have several of their bags which I love!

Excuse dodgy mirror pic, I just wanted to show the full length of the dress. Lucky for me Betty’s lovely husband Nicky Rockets took some wonderful pics for me.
It’s Ariel and Ursula!!!!

I love that Betty and I, completely unplanned ended up dressed as Ariel and Ursula from The Little Mermaid!
I absolutely loved the dramatic feel to the dress, it was a true show stopper and I got asked all night who my dress was by. Just for reference, I’m wearing the 22, it’s true to size but is very fitted, so thats something to be aware of.
